NEWARK — The Licking County Lath of Elections rejected six of 11 flawed candidate petitions at Friday's meeting, and also rejected a Buckeye Lake Yacht Society liquor option petition.
4 Alexandria Village Council candidates had some flaw on their petitions. 2 were rejected and two were accustomed. Jessica Voit's petition was rejected considering of insufficient number of valid signatures. Michael Miller'south was rejected because it lacked a engagement. The petitions of Jean Morgan and William Lower were accepted.
Three petitions were rejected considering of circulator statement issues. Hartford Village Council candidate Christopher Zehnder and St. Louisville Hamlet Council candidate Donald Roderick volition not appear on the November election considering the number of witnessed signatures was left blackness on the circulator statement. Jersey Township Trustee candidate Richard Burns had an under-count of signatures on a circulator statement.
Mark Alan Davis' petitions were rejected because he submitted petitions for 2 offices -- Kirkersville Village Quango and Board of Public Diplomacy.
The Buckeye Lake Yacht Gild needed 238 signatures, simply did non submit enough that were valid.
Other petitions accepted despite a deficiency were Buckeye Lake Hamlet Council candidate Deborah Julian, Spousal relationship Township Trustee Bernard Randell Williams and Newark City School Board candidate Mark Christenberry.
Voters volition elect two members to the Newark school board from 4 candidates: Christenberry, John Ault, Mike Blowers and Jamie Holderman.
The city of Newark has candidates for all seven wards and an unexpired term for council at-large. Brad Feightner is the alone candidate for Newark city treasurer.
In Heath, there are no contested races, with merely one candidate for each quango position and incumbent Mayor Mark Johns the lone mayoral candidate.
Buckeye Lake has five candidates seeking to succeed Peggy Wells every bit mayor. They are: Don Cable, Casey Clark, John Geiger, Jeryne Peterson and Catherune Zwissler.
In Granville, 5 candidates seek iii quango positions. W. Brian Goss, Melissa Hartfield, Kim Ball, Matt McGowan and Aaron Olbur have filed.
Hebron has 5 candidates for four council seats, with Andrea Chapman, Valerie Mockus, Kenny Nauer, Annelle Porter and Stacy Stoner on the ballot.
In Johnstown, voters will cull from Marvin Block, Charles Dutcher, Ryan Green, Douglas Lehner and Carol VanDeest for four council seats.
The contested township races are in Bowling Green, Eden, Etna, Franklin, Granville, Hanover, Harrison, Hartford, Licking, Monroe, Perry and Spousal relationship. Each township elects two of its three-member board this year.
The townships with the most candidates are Etna, Perry and Marriage, with five in each race.
Many school district elections are not contested, but Licking Valley has seven candidates seeking three positions, Granville has five running for two board openings, North Fork has v candidates and three members to be elected, and Southwest Licking also has five candidates and three open board positions.
